All-Music Monday Is In Full Effect!

Tonight, it's an unusual treat.  Susan Cagle is a true rags to riches story.  She started playing guitar at age seven, and by age fourteen she was writing songs & poetry. Older, she moved to New York. Her career started when she began writing & recording music, & performing in subway stations as part of the Music Under New York program.  During one show at Herald Square station, she was discovered by producer Jay Levine.  She was eventually signed to her first record contract.

She changed her name to Susan Justice in 2009, saying it happened "of its own accord", and it was something she felt she "needed to do".  We're still waiting on her follow-up record!  Tonight though, we are playing her debut record, The Subway Recordings, partially recorded live at Times Square Station during rush hour (all songs before the NPR news break), and Grand Central Station late at night (all songs after the NPR news break).  Her brother & sister also appear on the record.

This is surely the most unique recording we've had on All-Music Monday to date!
