On this episode, we talk about the recent coming out of Church In The Now leader Bishop Jim Swilley. The Bishop, who joined us LIVE, came out of the closet to his wife years ago, but after their divorce two years ago after 21 years of marriage (she's still the co-pastor of the church), & too many rumors, the Bishop - with the prompting of his ex-wife, decided to come clean & honest about something the church in general often views as sinful: He came out as homosexual.

Does the church go too far in interpreting the scriptures when it comes to sexual or relationship matters? Of course, the bigger concern is the cherry-picking of the Holy Scriptures by those who claim to preach it. If Christians are going to believe the Bible 100%, then why aren't they following all the rules set forth in the Old Testament?

Do you think the church picks & believes what is convenient, or are they just not up to speed? Does the Bible change with time, or should it stay the same as it always has been? If God is the Word, & the Word is God, & God adapts to our time & way of living (with technology, entertainment, etc), then why do Christians use the Bible to thwart & throttle that sort of growth in people?
