Nurses' Role in Epilepsy Treatment

When someone is diagnosed with epilepsy, there are often a number of people who become involved in their healthcare team, one of whom may be an epilepsy nurse. An epilepsy nurse is often an essential part of the healthcare team and has different roles depending on the setting and the state he or she works in, as well as their specific qualifications.
Michele Turner, a Nurse Practitioner and clinical nurse specialist at the Epilepsy Center at the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute discusses the type of information that nurses can provide and offers insights on how patients can maximize the time they spend with a nurse and improve their appointments.
