Tonight’s topic is “Research Your Promoter.” First you need to know that a Music Promoter produces live concerts, whether it’s individual or company. Now knowing that, you need to make sure you ask fact finding questions. What are some other shows they produced? Now think – who brought you the promoter? Make sure you check all references. Google and Altavista are great places to start. Look at their mannerisms and listen to the subtleties of their speech. Check out where the show is taking place. Who are the other Artists that will be performing at the venue? You have to understand everything written in the contract before signing anything. If you still have a problem it’s o.k. to phone a friend. Still not sure, ask our panelist. They will tell you all you need to know.
