Tony Moore, aka Saxophone Gypsy, heard bob Marley Music in 1978 performed by the Cleveland-based reggae band I-tal USA, “crucial reggae and rubadub.” In 1984 Moore was asked to join the group and toured with them for three years, including ...Jamaica. It was there that the locals addressed him as “ragamuffin soldier” after seeing him perform with I-tal USA. The name stuck in Moore’s mind and the rest is history.
