When Native Americans speak of Medicine, it is important to understand their definition. Medicine, as the modern world understands it, is going to the doctor and getting a prescription to cure the illness. Native Americans speak of medicine as an all encompassing way of life. It is a healing of body, mind and of spirit. This type of Medicine can also include anything that brings one personal power, strength and understanding. It is a way of life that brings healing to Mother Earth and all of her creatures; it is walking on Mother Earth in perfect harmony with the Universe. We all have totem animals. Animals that guide us on our Earth Walk. They are here to help us learn our lessons. We have only to ask. These animals can be animals that we have always dreamed of but don't know why; or can help us to understand why we have collected anything to do with frogs all of our lives. The animals we have don't change. Once known we can call on them for any situation for help and their essence will be with us. Other animals will float in and out of our lives as we need them, but our totem animals are here to stay. For more information about Ing visit her website at www.whisperofwind.com
