On March 27, 2021, inmate Curtis Buff Williams, 35, was gunned down inside the Oklahoma County Detention Center by Oklahoma City Police officers who stormed the jail and without warning or any other demands, raised their weapons and short Curtis Williams twice in the head on the 10th floor of the jail. Inmates at that time and are now suffering from dehumanizing and deplorable conditions inside the jail. The problems include but are not limited to jail corrosion, bed bugs, overcrowdedness, mold in the shower and food serving area, inmates denied adequate medical treatment, being forced into a cell with two other inmates that was designed to hold two inmates, inmates being denied three meals a day, denied family visits, inmates with covid not being effectively treated, inmates being denied commissary, outdoor recreation, and the like.
