She Empowered Me! Our guests are Coach Leanne White and Sarah Jefferson

Im certain that it was God's plan for me to be at West Point High School to see that particular JV Girl's Basketball game against Middlesex.  What I witnessed left such an impression on my heart that I had to seek out #23 who had Empowered me!  So today, you will hear from Coach Leanne White and #23, Sara Jefferson. 

Leanne White is the youngest daughter of Linda and the late Verdell A. White.  As an alumni of WPHS, Leanne was coached under her mother's leadership. Her love for basketball started early, as she could be seen on her mother's hip as an infant while she coached a basketball game or playing in a pile of dirt on the softball field. Leanne saw the love and passion her mother showed towards every student athlete she encountered and has always admired the dedication. Coach White is currently in her second year as an Assistant Spec Ed teacher at WPHS.  This 2015-2016 basketball season was her first season as a Head Coach for the JV team, and she lead the JV girls to a 11-5 record for the season. Coach White is grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in her girls lives and is excited about what God has in store for her. 

Sara Jefferson is an 8th grader of West Point Public schools. She is of Native American decent of the Chickahominy Tribe from Charles City, Virginia. She enjoys playing basketball, Minecraft, and gymnastics. Sara also has a love for music as she is part of the percussion department in the WPHS band, and enjoys listening to different genres of music. Her favorite quote is "Dance from the heart and your feet will follow."
