Dr. Bertschler is a psychologist and mediator in private practice. He is co-owner of Northcoast Conflict Solutions, Independence, Ohio, dedicated to “Making peace, one person at a time.” Dr. Bertschler's website is: http://www.ncsmediation.com

Families with older adults often face challenges such as "What Assisted Living or Nursing Home is best for mother?" and "My out-of-state sister thinks I'm doing a bad job caring for dad, and she's causing me so much grief. She thinks she can blitz into town and change everything." Questions about guardianship, living arrangements, caregiver inequities, end-of-life arrangements and more can be handled in a process called Elder Mediation.

In his therapy practice, Dr. Bertschler specializes in mood disorders, marital and relationship issues, parent-child conflict, crisis intervention, and life transition work. He has completed research in the field of physio-psychological disorders and health psychology. John has lectured in psychology at North Texas State University and Lakeland Community College. He is currently an adjunct professor at Notre Dame College of Ohio and the University of Phoenix, Independence, OH campus, teaching conflict resolution courses.
