Pro-Choice Birthing

For the final week of cesarean awareness month, Dr Pauline and Catherine want to talk to you about your options.  There are many, many wonderful birth professionals out there that are excited to help you navigate your pregnancy and birth.  The thing is, it's very important to choose the RIGHT one for YOU.  There are many (too many) birth professionals who are so worried about the letters behind their name (because they've certified with one organization or another) that they have put that ahead of doing what is best for Mom & baby.  For example, some doulas, instead of advocating, are quietly letting the doctor and medical staff take advantage of the one person they were there to stand up for in order to protect their certification.  Anyone not willing to advocate for you because they don't want to upset a hospital staff member is not the one you want to be there for your birth.  There are plenty of choices out there.  Pray.  Listen.  Go with what God tells you.  Simple as that.
