Chapter 1:  GOP Starts Hispanic Outreach Program

GOP leaders are going into the next phase of their outreach to Hispanic voters. This is in response to the fact more than 70 percent of Hispanic voters voted for President Obama over Republican nominee Mitt Romney in last November’s presidential election. As part of their effort, the GOP has selected a conference chair for Hispanic outreach, started appearing on Spanish language stations such as Univision and created a Spanish language YouTube channel and Twitter feed. Wet get the lowdown from Emma Dumain, Reporter for Roll Call where she covers House leadership and the oversight of the District of Columbia. We will also talk to Emma about Washington Mayor Vincent Gray and Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton and their call for Congress to pass the DC budget without interference.

Chapter 2:   VA Criticism Over Backlogs

We have a special post-Memorial Day coverage of veterans' issues. First we are going to be talking about the VA backlog with Pete Hegseth, CEO of Concerned Veterans for America, And then we’ll hear from Jesus Godinez, Vietnam War Veteran and Ride to the Wall member who makes a pilgrimage to the Vietnam war memorial every year along with hundreds of other riders.
