Health Care  blog review and discussion, starting with patient blogs: Sea Spray and Medical Mojave, followed by medical student blog: Adjacent Possible Medicine.  Dr Synonymous reviews an article from Medica Economics by Arthur Lazarus, MD, MBA amounting to a confession of undue bias by Managed Care Medical Directors.  He denied procedured to thousands of patients.  This is not surprising, considering the almost random nature of strange quality initiatives by managed care companies.  Physician blogs include The Singing Pen of Dr Jen commenting about the broad array of skills she teaches and practices as a Family Physician.  Treating and Prevention of Kidney Stones in the American Family Physician is then reviewed by Dr S, who comments about his kidney stone in 2010 and 2011.  Interesting items are noted in the Dayton Daily News about 16 deaths locally from bath salts and increasing jobs in our Medicaid Managed care company Care Source.  Dr Jonas notes further from the AMA News that "learning to cook is helping doctors to give nutritional advice".  He then ends with a few comments about a draft post he's writing in Dr Synonymous Blog about harms of statins and how to assess medications for benefits versus harms.
