J. Jewels is an East Coast music producer who utilizes stylized rhythmic sounds.  J. Jewels has worked with Ne-Yo – the Gentleman, Serani, Mighty Mystic and many other ground-breaking artists.

 Jewels was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti, his family migrating to the US in the late 80’s, though – unable to obtain a visa for the child, leaving young Jewels behind.  He lived with his grandmother on his father’s side for almost a year and half until his parents obtained that visa.

Jewels educated himself, learning a second language to communicate with fellow students at the Brooks Hobbs Magnet School in Medford where he attended sixth grade.  By his freshman year in high school Jewels could speak fluent English. He played soccer while establishing friendships, displaying a high proficiency for networking.  During high school Jewels’ involvement in music led to a small business handling the DJ work at weddings, adding video to his list of services.

 In his senior year, Jewels started a small music production company making beats and recor6ding local talent. By the late 90’s he met an up and coming rapper, Rick Hill, an artist that Jewels started producing exclusively. In 2006 the artist opened the JEI company, expanding its role in regional music with a new label in 2015, the JEI Music Group.

Jewels has had a variety of influences, from Bob Marley, Method Man, Adina Howard, Michael Jackson and more.
