The Mackin Project was started in 2010 and incorporated in 2012 after the founder, Tanisha D. Mackin lost her husband to gun violence in August 2010. As a result she founded a  501(c)(3) non-profit. The organization focuses on helping families that lost loved ones to the act of violence by providing some financial assistance, widows relief and widows talk during their time of need. We provide help with some funeral expenses such as obituaries, headstone, and etc. We use personal funds as well as donations to help fund our project and cause.

Also as aresult to her families lost, her son wrote and book titled "Fatherless Son" in this story he expresses his experience losing a loved one. The tragic life event has encouraged the family to empower others and teach others how to overcome loss. Today she will be sharing her experince amd empowering and teaching us "How to Overcome".
