You Can Get Hired was created by Jim Bear and Joanne Meehl to support a unique audience of job hunters. They noticed there was a group of unemployed people who seemed to be hit harder than the general population; the 50+ job seeker. This target audience has been at their jobs for the last 20 years and are now finding themselves looking for a job in an entirely new environment. The communication is different, the application process is different, and they find themselves in a situation where hiring resources seem to think they should simply retire.
The YCGH goal is to help decrease the unemployment rate for the 50+ job seeker by bringing this FREE workshop to the Maple Grove Community Center once a month. During each workshop, two experts share ideas to help attendees get noticed and get hired faster. These experts discuss resumes, interviewing, using social media for the job search process, finding their passion, staying motivated and more.
