Education in America

Now that summer is officially in session for most school districts, it is time for school administrators to address matters that matter most - reflecting on strategies for increasing student achievement, evaluating what worked and what didn't, and focusing on the issue of increasing teacher achievement. Obviously, this is the short list. There are many more aspects to attend.

With projected budget shortages well over 20K in many school districts, there is much discussion around the topics of hiring highly qualified teachers, characteristics of effective administrators, closing the seemingly elusive achievement gaps between student subgroups, and teacher salaries. The state of education in America has been a national topic for quite some time. Everyone seems to have an opinion as to solutions for addressing the problems educators face.
