Reita Clanton is a 2010 Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Inductee. She was first introduced to organized sports at Auburn University after Title IX legislation provided equal opportunities for women in sports. A few of her notable accomplishments include: Member of the US Team Handball National Team (1974 - 1984), Delegate to the International Olympic Academy in Olympia, Greece (1977), US Women's Team handball, Summer Olympics, Los Angeles (1984), Head Coach of gold medal winning teams in the U.S. Olympic Festivals in 1985, '87, and '95, and Torch Bearer in Winter Olympics Torch Relay (2002). More recently, Clanton is using her uncommon journey to the Olympics to help young children discover the internal flame that fuels their dreams! reita is launching "Living from the Inside Out," presenting engaging tools, humor, and personal experience to inspire young people to connect with their unique potential.
