Winter Safety Made Real – Part 5
The previous four parts of WSMR have presented the physical science and physiological principles behind staying warm in winter.  If you can keep all parts of your body warm, then winter and cold weather are not an issue.  Once you know how things actually work you can find or build whatever you may need.

With all of this back ground, in today’s class and subsequent classes we will be applying this new understanding to take care of the body with proper clothing, nutrition, attitudes and practices.  When properly executed there can be no suffering in the cold and cold injuries impossible.

We’ll explore where layering fits in the scheme of winter clothing, what their limits and problems are along with how to tune them up for best performance.  The last third of the program will be on clothing evaluation to give you an idea of how to look at winter clothing with performance in mind and not just rely on slick ads, hangtags and well meaning salesmen expounding habits and traditions used in the winter.

Jim Phillips is a nationally known speaker and teacher who has professionally taught thousands of classes all across the United States for 40 years.

Jim is a strong advocate of self-reliance living and family preparedness.  He developed an entire preparedness curriculum by asking himself the question "What if?" and then setting out to discover what actually does and does not work. Safe Harbour Alliance website
