The Psychology of Survival, Part-2 Probably everyone has had several momentary frightening, even life-threatening, situations in their life. However, most people have never faced a serious and sustained survival situation that seems to have no end in sight. How do you prepare yourself to recognize, understand, manage and overcome the extraordinary levels of stress that can build in such situations? In short, through education, practice and lifestyle. In this program, we’ll discuss with the Dues just how they have been applying this in their family life and their interest in helping others to do the same. Guest Profile: David Dye David has two Bachelor’s Degrees from Brigham Young University and a Master’s of Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University in Texas. He did Post Graduate Studies in the sociology and psychology of survival. He’s worked for a youth wilderness therapy program where he was able to apply what he’d learned in school, but also learned some very valuable practical lessons from some extremely harsh and dangerous situations. He focuses on teaching and rearing his children and sharing with others that a life of self-reliance is inherently rewarding. Even if there are no major manmade, political or natural catastrophes, such a lifestyle is a liberating way to live without fear of what the future may bring. Christine Dye Christine was born and raised near Blackfoot, Idaho. She has a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Brigham Young University. Christine is a dedicated and strong mother of nine children focusing much of her efforts on teaching them the ethic of work, healthy foods and relying on God more than on man. She enjoys teaching and sharing with others what she has learned in life.
