Guest: James Talmage Stevens How It All Happened James Tamage Stevens is a well-known and respected name in preparedness. His book, Making the Best of Basics – Family Preparedness Handbook, is probably the longest running continuous in print family preparedness guide in the world. Unlike some books that are “classics” to be looked at with a collectors nostalgia of how it was, “Making the Best of Basics” is a classic that is up-to-date and current. Mr. Stevens book is also a record setter in the world of family preparedness training with more than 800,000 copies sold to date. First published in 1974, its had its 28th printing and is now in its 12th revised addition for 2012. The man behind the book is also a classic, but he, too, is current and up-to-date and is now known by many as Doctor Prepper. James Stevens is not only a man with a very successful book to his name, but he is a man with a mission to help as many families as possible prepare for any future that may come upon them. In this program well explore how it all came about, but more importantly well learn about his personal philosophy for family preparedness. His attitude and outlook are worthy of being emulated by all – theres no doom and gloom handwringing from Dr. Prepper.
