It's Gloom & Doom, Panic, Denial, Apathy, or Provident Living When the idea takes root about the need to put in supplies for a time of scarcity, for most of us it's based on the fear of being without. The idea of the physical, mental and emotional struggle and suffering during a time of deprivation can be quite motivational. When such dire thoughts settle in, usually one of two different courses will result: 1) People are catapulted into frantic action to do everything they think possible to take care of the whole issue, or 2) They drop into the depths of comfortable complacency believing that it just cannot possibly happen. They live in a state of denial by either shielding themselves with apathy justified by a long list of statements about why it cannot happen here, or at this time, or to them, or that they just won't engage in such negative thoughts, or they sooth hidden nagging concerns by choosing to immerse themselves in mind numbing distractions of play, sports, video games, vacations, adventure, material possessions, chemical substances etc. So where are you in this emotional continuum of gloom and doom, panic, denial, apathy, or positive provident living? You're okay? How about the people around you? Do you truly understand the concept that you are not prepared until your family, friend and neighbors are prepared, and just how do you help them to understand and take action?
