Guest: Laura Wilson The Importance of Building “Community” Wanting to be self-sufficient (an island unto yourself) as a way of preparing for disaster, emergencies and life changing events is not the way to live providently. We always have been, and will always need to be, a part of a community in order to be safe and live well. When major events occur and there is a breakdown in the normal society we are a part of, it is imperative that we have developed a fall back position with people whom we trust and can work closely with in very difficult situations. In order to do this, we must make preparation in advance of such events; otherwise we may find ourselves a victim of the circumstances. It is important to learn from the experiences of others so that we can have an even more positive outcome. We'll also hear about Laura's experiences in the recent Colorado Springs fires. This includes her direct involvement and those who are a part of her community that were affected by the fires.
