In our “modern” society of specialized service, the process of childbirth has been mystified and relegated to doctors and hospitals.  In most respects, they have served us very well, but what are you going to do if they aren’t available?  This program will not teach you how to deliver a baby.  The fact is that the mother and child are innately designed for childbirth.  However, you need to know how to stay cool, so know when you can assist, when to stay out of the way, and how to lend moral, emotional, and physical support to the mother, baby, and other family members in an emergency situation.


Don’t think this issue doesn’t apply to you, because of age or marital status.  It’s likely people
around you may need what you can offer in this area when the system is down.

 RaeAnn Peck has served mothers, babies, and families as a homebirth midwife for 32 years.  She has been married for 40 years and a mother for 37 years.  She has been involved with women’s health interests and issues for nearly 40 years.
