Rapper, Jared Michael Randolph, better known by his stage name “Young Jay R” was born April 2, 1988 in Lincoln, Nebraska, but spent much of his childhood and teen years in the Wichita, KS. Young Jay R attributes much of his presence as an artist, and his swagger to his ability to adapt to what he saw in the streets and to channel that into his music. Young Jay R stated, “The streets are real. And they will always be a part of me and what I do in my music forever.”

Young Jay R started out free-styling and honing his talent by writing in notebooks, studying the game, analyzing flows and staying behind the scenes, but later in October 2007, with the birth of his daughter Aaliyah Lashae Randolph, Young Jay R realized that it was time to commit full force to his passion of making music. Eventually Young Jay R developed a strong local support system and formed his own label Ice Money Entertainment/S.M.S. Gang with co-founder Tyrone “Maggnificent” Godfrey.

Young Jay R’s first mixtape “The Preview” was released in October 2011 which was a combination of prior compilations “Cryogenics I” and “Zone in and Zone Out” which were unreleased by the artist.

Future mixtapes are in the making, including "The Real Cryogenics I" slated for release in 2012.
