Join us as we continue our literary journey with poet Elizabeth Bishop. Known for her celebrated and brilliant works; her literature is very much admired for how close it is to everyday reality. She's the winner of many awards for works such as: "North & South: A Cold Spring" (1955), "The Complete Poems" (1969), "The Collected Prose" (1984), and many more; including works of literature that was published after her death. No stranger to controversy; her romantic life was front in center as she had relationships with women. However, she did not write about her personal life or her sexual orientation in her poetry and did not see herself as a "lesbian poet" or as a "female poet." Elizabeth only wanted to be judged based on the quality of her writing and not on her gender or sexual orientation. Elizabeth Bishop; a talented poet whose style of writing is particularly known for its objective, and distant point of view, will surely live on in the world of literature. Tune in as we take a literary journey with the one and only Elizabeth Bishop. Stay tuned and keep it locked.
