Amanda Pekoe is the Founder & CEO of The Pekoe Group, a full-service advertising and marketing agency for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.  Leading a team of over 20 young professionals, The Pekoe Group creates, develops and executes all aspects of theater campaigns from designing the poster to website & social media to online, print & NYC-street advertising to live event promotions to TONY award marketing all leading to ticket sales and full houses at the various shows. Breaking a Guinness World Record for client, Rock of Ages, by having the largest air guitar ensemble, Amanda Pekoe leads a team of innovative, nimble and brilliant marketers who use new and traditional strategies to inspire communities around theater productions and cultural institutions in New York City. 

 

Prior to launching The Pekoe Group, Amanda Pekoe was an actress and singer in off-Broadway plays & musicals but when she wasn't rehearsing or performing -- she helped build awareness through grassroots marketing strategies driving up ticket-sales. Pekoe developed a passion for the business side of Broadway and pursued job opportunities in which she helped promote dozens of shows, including Phantom of the Opera, Spamalot, Jersey Boys, Inherit The Wind and, later, as VP of Marketing for a circus show event called Spiegelworld, now a staple in Las Vegas. 

 

Amanda Pekoe holds a masters degree in performing arts managment from Brooklyn College. She is on the board of directors for the League of Professional Theatre Women, the Steering Committee for the Lincoln Center Theater Young Angels, a Young Benefactor for VH1 Save the Music foundation, among other organizations. She values honesty, learning, beauty, and hard work. She believes in human beings and the power of art and culture to transform the individual and society.
