In the Science of Naad Yoga, we talk about the powerful effect that chanting has on the body and in the being through the stimulation of the structures of the brain, including the vagus nerve, the hypothalamus gland, and the pineal gland.  In this session, Dr. Japa Kaur will explore the physiological and transformative effect of chanting by discussing how chanting awakens compassion in these structures and throughout the body.

Dr. Japa Kaur Khalsa is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and teacher trainer, a Sat Nam Rasayan healer, and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine licensed in New Mexico. She earned a Bachelors of Science in Theater from Northwestern University and completed her Masters in Oriental medicine in Chicago as well. She is co-author of Enlightened Bodies: Exploring Physical and Subtle Human Anatomy, publishing through KRI in 2015. She lives at Hacienda de Guru Ram Das, the Mother Ashram, with her husband and son. Her work with all her patients and students emphasizes growth and transformation through self care and awareness of the interconnectedness of all life.
