We’ve all read the often quoted motto, “Prayer changes things.” The words have been carved on wood and emblazoned on metal. And rightfully so because they are true words. Moses prayed and the Red Sea parted. Joshua prayed and the sun stood still. Paul and Silas prayed and their jail cell trembled and shook and their chains fell off. There are times however, when we experience pressure, and it seems that prayer does not change things. We may sense that it’s the ineffectiveness of our prayer life. But the wonderful secret is…after we have prayed and believed, it’s time to praise! Just as a bird has two wings to fly, our faith needs two wings in order to fly….a prayer wing and a praise wing. Both must be fully extended if our faith is going to fly. 2 Chronicles chapter 20 tells a thrilling story about a battle that was won by one means only – praise. King Jehosophat was told that an unholy alliance of three nations was crossing the Jordan river and was coming against him. Israel was a tiny nation and could not have prevailed against one of the nations, let alone three nations. Nevertheless, Stand Still & See: The Salvation of The Lord!
