The Beautiful Garden versus The Isolated Hothouse

Christ has left us in this world to become a lovely bouquet of fruit. Everyone should see us and desire our nutrients and flavor. Our lives should be salty and sweet……brilliant and dazzling! We are continuing our in depth discussion of John Chapter 15; the allegory of Jesus as the True Vine and the Father as the Vinedresser. The disciples are the branches. It is a demanding passage that requires our entire focus and attention. Here we learn that fruit bearing means knowing God and sharing in a love relationship with Him. When we do this, our intimacy with Him will fill us to overflowing, spreading this love and knowledge to all whom we encounter; hence, we bear much abundant fruit….fruit that remains and continues to influence and shape our world forever. He did not intend for us to be that isolated hothouse far removed from the main streets and marketplaces i.e where the people are; instead, He wants His disciples to be a beautiful garden, in the middle of all the action, where the souls gather and lives can be captured for Him.
