Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now with Denise Thomson, Certified Transformational Health and Wellness Coach, nurse, fitnesstrainer, educator, BTR host, best selling author.

Many people are so proud that they can multitask or switchtask. How does it serve them? Are there benefits to doing this or are there more detrements? 

For example, I have a webinar at 5 PM, followed by one at 5:30 PM, followed by the next one from 6 - 7 PM. Well, my dinner time is between 5 - 5:30, so I can have my last snack around 7:30 PM, in enough time before I am going to bed. So, what do I do? I listen to the webinar on my ear phones, so I can stand in the kitchen and fix my salad. Looks like a benefit, doesn't it? Well, do I hear, comprehend, understand everything that's shared or am I distracted paying attention cutting up vegetables, so I don't cut myself? That's the question.

Dave Crenshaw did an experiment in a course he was holding. Let's do this together and see what we learn:

Get a piece of paper and a pen and get ready for the experiment.

We just did the exercise of multitasking. How did it turn out for you? Did your stress level increase and your quality of the task decrease? What else did you notice?

Since our mind is going in different directions, stress increases, starts making us feel sick, then getting sick, seeing Dr., getting Rx, money out of pocket -> affecting healthy mind, body and finances.
