Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now with Denise Thomson, Certified Transformational Health Coach, Nurse, Fitness Trainer, Educator, Speaker, Best Selling Author.

Last week I gave you safety tips for tonight's Trick or Treating. I don't know who listend to the podcast and who did not. What I do know is something that is very heavy on my heart and no, I do not want to rain on your parade from having fun, just want you safe and happy.

Two nights ago, there was a mass shooting in my neighborhood, just a few blocks from my house. It was supposedly an early Halloween party with quite a few people. End result, 3 dead, 9 injured and in the hospital, some of them hanging on to life and others not that seriously injured. This hurts my heart so much. Something that was supposed to be fun turned out into a terrible tragedy and nowoby knows why and who did it.

This is my reason for calling on you once more to be safe.

Be dressed warm

Have reflective clothing or a reflective vest or band on so you can be seen.

Have a working flashlight

Do NOT cross the street between cars.

Go in groups to protect each other!

No pushing or shoving, be respectful, gentle, helpful with the smaller trick or treaters.

Have all candy screened by the Police or a screening place.

Do not eat all candy at once, spread it out over days, weeks,

Brush your teeth

Listen to your guardians to keep safe.

Be careful around Jack-O-Lanterns with burning candles. Don't catch your clothing on fire.

May all of you have an amazing fun and safe evening.
