Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now with Denise Thomson, Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Published Best Selling Author, Fitness Trainer, Nurse, Educator and Speaker.

Yesterday was the Celebration of July 4th, a historic day which should be treasured, respected, and taken seriously. Laws should be obeyed and accidents prevented or avoided. Then why do we have so many accidents, fatal and otherwise?

I for one am always concerned about the private fireworks, especially when the city is posting in advance that they are not allowed due to danger, fires, injuries, etc. It's 5:55 PM on the 4th and I have neighbors igniting fireworks in close proximity and no Police to stop them.

Just to mention a few accidents that happened over the last few years:

Decapitation to Blindness

Deaths

Fires

There is so much information available, it's scary.

I even wrote on my moving LED sign in the window facing the street to obey the laws, no fireworks in the neighborhood, respect yourself and your neighbors, avoid tragic accidents, etc. Do you think people pay attention? I know for a fact that many passer buys are reading my LED sign as I change it monthly to what's current, yet, when it comes down to being a good citizen, nobody cares.

Over the last few years I was so concerned that my house will catch on fire because fireworks landed on the roof. I don't have automatic sprinklers on the roof and I go to bed between 9 - 10 PM, yet the fireworks keep on going past midnight.

What is the purpose of me mentioning this?

Best Selling Author of a Stress Reduction Book, trying to help people relax, feel good, yet..

Google: Accidents due to 4th of July private fireworks and listen, see the results.

As a HC and Educator, I want to avoid such tragedies and keep people safe and sound.

Please, respect yourself and your neighbors Keep happy, healthy + safe
