Welcome to Get Healthy Now with Denise Thomson, Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Nurse, Fitness Trainer, Educator, Speaker and Author. Yesterday my phone was ringing off the hook with numbers I did not recognize, or Scam Likely, and no messages left. Hmmmm, so glad I did not jump to answer the phone, get injured while hurrying to answer it. My decision to remain calm was much better and safer. It was good for my mental health, physical health, and since I did not get injured my financial health! Interesting how we can look at every situation in a positive way, do you agree?

There is nothing that important that we have to drop anything we are doing to answer the phone. When we have a precise, clear message, we can respond more accurately and in a timely manner. When we are faced with a conversation that is unexpected, we usually cannot think clearly, hence, take more time to make an educated deicision. So, taking a little bit more time, remaining calm, listening to the message, then forming an opinion or making a decision is usually faster and better than rushing into anything.

I find it quite interesting that it took me so many years to learn that time is crucial in making excellent decisions. With much reflecting on my upbringing, I remember my Dad always rushed to answer the phone. I do have to say that at that time, there were no answering machines, so when a call was missed, that was it unless the person decided to call back. Today, with vm, txt, email, etc., it's so much easier. Absolutely no need to rush, be unsafe, hasten, and then get hurt, frustrated, etc.
