Good morning to Get Healthy Now with Denise Thomson, Health Coach, Nurse, Fitness Trainer, Educator, Author and Speaker.

How do perceptions affect our body and mind?

2 days ago I received an envelop from my home country's Government with information about my uncle's passing and that I am the sole heir. It's not about the few dollars, it's about how I perceived everything when I read the information presented to me. See, it listed my biological mom as his half-sister and that totally floored me.

1. My grandfather must had done something wrong.

2. My grandma must have been devastated.

When I was 10 years old, I found out that my "mom" was my bonus mom, as my biological mom passed away when I was 10 months old. That cleared up the picture why all my siblings looked different from me.

My daughter had a marvelous relationship with my Dad, her grandpa and he had told her about my grandma having been married previously and that's when she had my mom. Grandma got remarried and had uncle with her second husband, my grandfather. This is what I found out yesterday!

What happend? My entire attitude shifted putting my grandfather in a good light as he raised my mom as his own child.

How often do we perceive something, anything, only to find out that we were incorrect?

I felt my attitude shift as my perception changed and instead of being frustrated about something I cannot change, I was happy that it turned out that way.

Perceptions are neither correct, nor wrong, they are just so!
