Don Berwick, MD former acting head of the Centers
for Medicare & Medicaid Services says that
America’s hospitals face some terrible monsters. He
told some 1,400 executives assembled for the American
Hospital Associations Leadership Summit that “We’re scared of
the truth” and that the industry involves grasping greed,
ignorance, excess, over utilization, and waste. He
made it clear that hospitals needed to distinguish between profit
and greed. Thirty years ago , we didn’t know patient safety was
a problem, now we know it has been happening right under
our noses. What do we do now is the question? Many
organizations have begun using strategies to promote
care. Beth Boynton, RN helps many health
professionals with a strategy called Medical
Improv. What is it and how can it help us? Tune in to
see how this can help those terrible monsters in
America’s hospitals.
