The divorce rate among Christians is staggering and the consequences are tragic. What’s going on? Where is the breakdown? The same men and women who love God and believe in His truths are disappointed and disillusioned in their marriages in increasing numbers.

Haines Maxwell, a Christian businessman from Charlotte, NC, has been involved in men’s ministry for 25+ years and has a passion to see good marriages grow and broken marriages restored.

“I haven’t got women quite figured out (smile) but I’ve learned a lot about the heart of a man over the years and I’m convinced relationships only have a chance of being what God has called them to be when men begin to get a clue of their true identity and the strength God has called them to walk in. The first step, I believe, is for men to live in real community with other men. Too many men walk alone,“ says Maxwell, who experienced the tragedy of divorce after a 20-year Christian marriage. “There’s an ‘iron sharpens iron’ thing that goes way beyond the hour or two a week a man spends hearing sermons and participating in worship. And this community must go much deeper than news, work and sports.” Maxwell helps lead the charge at "The Barn", a weekly, multi-church  initiative under the 501c3 ministry umbrella of Faith in the Family that includes men from over 15 area churches. www.barnbrothers.org
