Seven days after Dawn Montgomery arrived in Canada, she drove 1,771 km from Toronto to Ear Falls, Ontario to reach work. In 2009 she attracted media attention with her innovative job search, riding the Go-train seeking contacts to the hidden job market. Passionate about communication, she credits B.B.C. radio for educating her, C.B.C. radio for being her finishing school and utilizes the skills gleaned from her performance training and community radio experience. Dawn volunteers for Trees Ontario, Hamilton Philharmonic and Hamilton Health Sciences, is a mentor for Women as Career Coaches and coaches Job Seekers Boot Camp. She worked in the costume department of the National Ballet of Canada, and as ballet teacher, broadcaster, personal chef, teachers aide, auto salesperson, recruiter, crossing guard, fundraiser, researcher and executive assistant and remains interested in all revenue generating opportunities.
