What is a Gig? We are looking to change the definition -- just a bit -- but, by adjusting perspective, opening up greater potentials for more and better gigs. Fundamentally, a gig is anywhere a person can express and connect. Hopefully, get paid. In the 21st Century, there are a lot of places where you can accomplish all three. There are 84 million musical instrument players in the U.S. alone. That's a lot of expression needing to connect. That's a lot of problems looking to get solved. You have the capacity to identify the problems and to deliver solutions. And that's what we're about. MyGigNet is a community-driven music initiative -- a vision for a comprehensive, coordinating portal that anticipates every direction of musical interest and endeavor. Music Education Music Business Education Composition and Publishing Recording and Distribution Performance Development Professional Services and Venue Performance Organizations, Programs, and Funding Music Therapy Music Appreciation Infrastructure is not just components; it is relationships. Our aim is to build on the integrity of our relationships, using this to qualify how relevant the musical resources are. We look to make this site a viable base for empowerment of the musical community -- informational, educational, teacher, student, personal, professional, spiritual, and economic. Music is not just product. It is not just an industry. At its heart, it is a process and that is what we emphasize.
