TEXT: Revelation 22:8-9
In these verses, John testifies to the truth of his revelation. He lived in a day when rogue writers were producing literature falsely attributed to the apostles of our Lord. Others were writing and distributing literature that purported to be part of divine revelation, but was nothing more than man's imagination. John, the beloved disciple, wants his readers to know that he alone has seen and heard the Revelation of Jesus Christ and that he himself wrote down that message to give to the churches. So, he says, "I John saw these things and heard them." We, too, live in a day when there is much false teaching under the guise of divine revelation. We must be careful that we only heed the words of Scripture and those whose message aligns with Scripture.
