TEXT: Romans 8:18-28

When we last looked at this passage, we began to consider the word "groanings" in light of the work of prayer that the Holy Spirit does in us and on our behalf. The Bible says, "The Spirit maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." The word "groanings" is defined as: "a sigh, a moan, an inaudible prayer, or a prayer made with grief." It is basically a prayer that is too emotionally, spiritually, or mentally complex to put into human words. So, the Holy Spirit steps in and helps us communicate with the Father.
