PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: "Christians Will be Saved from the Wrath (Part 3)" from Dr. Tim LaHaye 

That the church is not appointed to wrath, but to salvation or deliverance is affirmed in 1 Thessalonians 1:10, where we find that Christ, at his coming, will deliver us “from the wrath to come.” This is similar to the challenge that the Spirit of God gave to the church of Philadelphia (which many Bible teachers think represents the Bible-believing church of our own day): “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” Notice that our Lord promised those believers that they would be kept “from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world”, and not merely kept while they go through it. 

Some Bible teachers think it weakens the church to reach that we are such Pollyanna Christians that we have to be saved from the Tribulation wrath, and that if we are wrong in our pre-tribulation view, this will create tragic disillusionment among believer when they find themselves going through the Tribulation. Frankly, I have more confidence in Christians than that. If we are wrong about this interpretation and find ourselves waking up in the first or second half of the Tribulation, I am confident that with God’s help we will be able to persevere through the Tribulation.
