Our prayer motivator quote today is from The Kneeling Christian. He said: "We cannot be men of prevailing prayer unless we study God's Word to find out His will for us."

Our prayer motivator devotional today is part 16 of our series titled "DOES GOD WORK MIRACLES TODAY?" from Dr. John R. Rice.

Notice with me these miracles of the Holy Spirit:

1. He regenerates. The salvation of a soul is a miracle. It is not ordinary but extraordinary. It is not human but divine. It is not natural but supernatural. A new creature in Christ is not the result of the working of any natural law. It is a direct intervention of God Himself through the Holy Spirit, making a spiritually dead person alive, making a child of Hell into a child of God.

2. After one's conversion the Holy Spirit lives in the body of the believer. After one is "born of the Spirit", then his body is the literal home of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is given to comfort the believer, to guide him into all truth, to empower him for service, to grow in him the Christian graces, or fruits, of the Spirit. And remember that all of this is not natural but supernatural. It is not the result of the working of natural law but the direct intervention of God the Holy Spirit who lives in every Christian. Every man who was ever called to preach had a miracle. Every Christian who ever had a direct leading of the Holy Spirit, instruction as to what he should do, was present at a miracle.
