Too often, "March Madness" means "May Sadness." The players that star in March are no where to be found in May at graduation. Despite the NCAA’s declaration to ensure the academic commitment of "student-athletes," last year, the overall graduation rate for Division I basketball players was only 64%.  Since the data consistently provide evidence that a large percentage of college students are not graduating, isn't it time to start paying college students at least for merchandising and branding?
