Torie is the 15 year old daughter (she will be turning 16 on November 18) of Jay and Linda Shifflett.  She resides in Dayton, VA.  She is a sophomore at Turner Ashby High School in Bridgewater, VA.

She has always been a honor roll student (her current GPA is over 3.7) and is an avid softball player....has been playing since the age of 4 years old - she currently plays for her high school team and the Virginia Rowdies Elite showcase/travel team.  She also plays high school basketball.  Torie is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also serves on the Event Leadership Team as Luminaria Chairperson and Youth Council for Harrisonburg/Rockingham County Relay For Life which has been the largest Relay event in Virginia for the past three years!

Torie is honored to hold the title of Miss West Virginia High School America 2016 and is looking forward to promote the national anti-bullying - B.R.A.V.E. program to classrooms throughout the states of West Virginia and Virginia. Torie is establishing a web-site and a Facebook page to help promote anti-bullying and keep everyone up-to-date on her adventures during her year as Miss West Virginia High School America – leading up to and including her participation at the national pageant in San Antonio, TX July 11 – 16, 2016.
