Look Alive started writing poetry at the age of eight as a hobby but after hurricane Katrina she realized that the world needed to hear her story. Look Alive’s musical inspiration comes from her New Orleans traditional jazz, classical, soul, and blues sound. Her style has been compared to artist like Lauryn Hill, Nas, Mc Lyte , Jay Z and Jay Electroinica.

She has performed with and written for numerous artists. Look Alive recently got hit with the acting bug in Oct. 2011 and is a fan favorite on the web series Between Women which she also did the theme music for. She has featured, opened, and given her own concerts, so she knows the business from all spectrums. Her show stopping performances are one of a kind with an exciting stage presence and crowd pleasing energy. Look Alive puts her heart into her music because it’s her life story, her experiences, her passion, and most of all Her Lifeline.
