When it comes to punishment, what works and what doesn’t? This is a very common question for parents. Things that seem to work when the child was little will not work the same once that child turns 12 or 13.

  • What is your purpose for punishment?
  • Is your intention to be loving or hurtful?
  • Are your children in a loving state of mind as you guide their behavior or are they in a fearful, neglectful and resentful state of mind, as you get them to do what you want them to do, through outdated punishment techniques?

Both ways will produce results, however, one will produce loving long-term results, and the other will produce dysfunctional short-term results.
