Secondly, Texas legislator Aaron Pena, a former Democrat, and now a senior Latino Republican, called in to th...e show and reported on his experience in transitioning to the GOP in Texas and about his efforts with other Latino Republicans in the legislature called the Hispanic Republican Conference with 6 members. Mr. Pena reported that he was impressed with the Texas Compact and has shared it with his colleagues and has considered including that language in their HRC mission statement. Mr. Pena also agreed to consider submission of the Texas Compact to become part of Texas law as either a resolution or part of another bill. Lastly, Mr. Pena spoke about how things look very bright for Latinos in the Republican Party.
