0107 2010, Thurs, June 23, Conservative Latino Talk Radio discusses news and current events from the Latino perspective. I review school choice issues and discuss recent news on the topic. There are two major camps, politically, on the topic. Conservatives support school choice and on Feb. 17, 2010, I produced episode #28, discussing how Latinos in America, regardless of political or religious affiliation prefer school choice. I also review the arguments against school choice as being from two camps: teacher's unions and radical secularists. I explain their interpretation of the 1st amendment that supports their philosophy and why I believe they are all wrong. I also discuss some websites that articulate the reasons and how they describe the conservative positions. There is news on the topic too. This fall, the Supreme Court will take up the subject as a law in Arizona that allows contributions to private school scholarships to be taken as state income tax credit. It is argued that this law eliminates school choice: quite counter intuitive! I think school choice is a winner for conservatives, for Republicans and for Latinos.
