When it comes to home loans, your credit matters. There is a direct correlation between scores and mortgage (home loan) approval. Plus, the better your score, the better terms you will be offered. If you need some credit repair, be careful how you do it.
Credit scores range from 300 to 850, based on your credit report. To purchase a home, you need a minimum score of 580 for Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loans; 620 for conventional, Veterans Administration (VA) loans. Because mortgage lenders have specific ways of calculating scores, it’s a good idea to have one check your score to see if you need to work on credit repair.
