As a Career he amassed 323 wins ,3 State championship 11 Region Championship titles begining in 1984 and ending with the last region title coming in 2007. since 1984 he has built a winning tradition at Thomson and Friday Nights in the "Brickyard" will never be the same without him,For all that is left a befitting tribute to a man the town honored with his own day , Luther Welsh Day shows how much he was beloved by all.
